Hello Tweeters,
My wife and I decided this morning since it was snowing and cold, what better thing to do than go birding. We headed up to Whidbey Island by way of the ferry from Mukilteo to Clinton. As the boat pulled into the dock at Clinton, we were treated to the sight of two Gray Whales. We drove up to Crockett Lake near Keystone. It was blowing and snowing. As we were getting ready to leave, we saw a small whitish bird fly, a Snow Bunting. We saw it several times near the raised platform just west of Crockett Lake. I managed to take some photos as it flitted around. I enlarged them to make the field marks easier to see. It is on my Shutterfly account. See link below. Just ignore all the Shutterfly stuff and hit view photos. We also had a Short-eared Owl in the same area. The rest of the day was pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary but a good day considering the winter/spring weather.
