Subject: [Tweeters] turkey vultures all over western Kansas and Nebraska

Hi Tweets,

I know this is a little out of the neighborhood, but I
have been trying, unsuccessfully, to keep track of all
the turkey vultures i've been seeing in western Kansas
and along the drive to the Platte River in Nebraska.
It is likely that I've seen several hundred
individuals this past week (many appear to be paired
up, and seem to be inspecting potential nesting
sites). So, Dian, if you are reading this, I am not
sure if this info is useful to you, but suffice it to
say that the sheer numbers of these birds is quite
interesting. They also are very polite vultures; they
give me very good looks at them.

I will be posting a complete bird list after my trip
is over.
