I did another shorebird survey today at the GHNWR located in Hoquiam. High tide was at 10:30am and it did not cover all the mudflats. Tides are getting higher going into the weekend so it should be prime viewing conditions for the festival. An American Golden-Plover has been reported two days in a row by other observers on the mudflats. Today, I heard it called out but didn't get a look. Here's what I saw for shorebirds between 6:30am and 12:30pm:

Dunlin 9700
Western Sandpiper 9600
Semipalmated Plover 1000
Least Sandpiper 30
Ruddy Turnstone 5
Red Knot 6 (no bands detected)
Greater Yellowlegs 4
Black-bellied Plover 4
Short-billed Dowitcher 4

Two Peregrine Falcons, 1 Merlin, and 3 Bald Eagles were present as well.

On the way back home, there was a kettle of 8 Turkey Vultures over Central Park. Brady Loop had a some Least Sandpipers and one Greater Yellowlegs.
