Yesterday, as we rushed out the door to sail to Blake Island, we heard
piercing peer calls in the tree tops around our abode in Winslow,
Bainbridge Island; we live 300 meters from the ferry dock, on a dead-end
road.

Today we confirmed a small flock of Evening Grosbeaks. Very noisy, mostly
hanging out in the Big Leaf maples and Dogwood trees. A new bird for our
1/2-acre in town property! On our sail yesterday we saw three small groups
of Brant (about 20 per flock) between Blakely Rock and Blake Island.
