Hi Tweets,

Migration seems to be moving along at a moderate pace. Some days we have just
2-3 migrants around and others, such as today, we have a dozen or more. So far
we haven't seen a day with a flood of birds - but I still have my hopes up.

It has become my morning ritual lately to stand in my driveway before work, breaking
my neck anew each day, as I stare straight up into the canopy of the huge maple in
our front yard. The tree is a real magnet for insect eaters as it is in bloom at the
moment and it stands in a rather isolated and prominent spot at the crest of the hill
above Fauntleroy. This morning we had 4-5 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, 2-3 ORANGE-
CROWNED WARBLERS, 1 WILSON'S WARBLER and 2 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS
enjoying the bounty of bugs.

I missed the best bird of the day though, as my partner Marissa found it while I was
at work. She got good enough looks to identify a HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, a new yard
bird for us. I assume this was the same empid that went unID'd on Wednsday when I
saw it for about a grand total of 5 seconds.
