I arrived at Marymoor at 5:20 this morning (too early.still dark with the
overcast sky). Things started slow but picked up. YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS
were common all over but not in huge numbers. COMMON YELLOWTHROAT were
calling everywhere and I even managed to see a couple of them. Across the
slough from the rowing club I found a NASHVILLE WARBLER mixed in with the
Yellow-rumped. There were several ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS singing here and
there as well as just a couple of WILSON'S WARBLERS. Somewhat surprisingly,
I found a nice TOWNSEND'S WARBLER across from the rowing club as well. We
usually see them by the mansion. I heard and saw a couple of BLACK-HEADED
GROSBEAK along the boardwalk. Just past the boardwalk on the way back toward
the fields east of the off-leash area I found one YELLOW WARBLER. A GREEN
HERON made a few flights over between the east meadow and the slough.

I made a quick stop at the compost heaps and spied a WESTERN KINGBIRD over
by the model plane area. I walked over and got some good looks. My last
stop was a walk around the mansion area where I found more Yellow-rumped
Warblers and a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER - the eighth species of the
morning for me.

Good birding,
