Hi Tweeters,

I heard, then saw 3 Caspian Terns high above Kent
Ponds. Then they dropped down towards the ponds and
interacted with a Red-tailed Hawk. I was leaving so I
don't know if they actually landed or fished from the
ponds. The Osprey were fishing sucessfully today from
the ponds.

The eastern most end of the powerline trail, across
the road had a pair (male and female) Western Tanager
and two Western Scrub Jays. A pair of Cinnamon Teal
were in the slough by the concrete bridge.

Riverview Marsh on the other side of the Green River
had 2 Green Herons, a loudly singing Black-throated
Gray Warbler, a Bullock's Oriole, and a singing
Black-headed Grosbeak.

I never had Caspian Tern even on the radar screen for
this location so what a surprise. I was hoping the
Lazuli Buntings or the Yellow-breasted Chat would be
back but not yet. Still a great afternoon to be out
birding and getting a nice walk in. The Tanagers, BTG
Warbler and BH Grosbeak were first of the year for me
for Washington.

It really feels like spring today.
