Patricia,

Our birdathon bigfoot bigday team ran into Matt Bartels near the south
parking lot at Discovery Park this morning about 8 AM and he directed us to
this White-throated Sparrow which did us the honor of singing "Old Sam
Peabody, Peabody, Peabody" and perching in full view.

Subject: [Tweeters] white throated sparrow

Hello,

This morning, at the Discovery Park, I believe I saw one white-throated
sparrow feeding with a flock of golden crowned sparrows in the grass on the
east side of the south parking lot. At first I thought it was a white
crowned sparrow, but the throat was very well-defined and pure white. My
book says they are rare winter visitors, so my question is, has anyone else
seen this bird? What else might it be?

Thank you!

Also, a lovely flock of terns, both Caspiana nd Common, I believe, as well
as a single horned grebe, surf scoters, and five Brants.

Nice day!

Patricia
