If anyone out there doesn't already read Backpacker magazine there is an interesting (although sad) article in the newest issue about an undercover wildlife agent who has helped prosecute Roller Pigeon club members for killing Hawks and Falcons. By no means does every member participate in this illegal act but the speculative numbers of illegally killed birds every year is pretty scary. To any Pigeon people out there please don't take this as an attack on your membership personally. I know that not everyone is guilty of this and I'm sure many people raise pigeons without ever engaging in something so egregious. Geez.... I hope I didn't just open an ugly can of worms.
