Hello,

I was walking the waterfront this afternoon looking for shorebirds and came upon a pair of Killdeer in the drift wood next to the pavement. One flew off making noise while the other did the broken wing thing. Then I noticed 2 golf ball size chicks running around next to the sidewalk and driftwood. I got a few decent pictures before leaving them alone.
Earlier at the Pt. Defiance duck pond I saw my first ducklings of the year, six Mallards. One turtle was basking on a rock in the pond.
Near Les Davis Pier thir was a River Otter hunting along the shore, no good pics though. Just offshore a boat was doing well while fishing for Ling Cod, To bad he was in the closed waters near the pier. Got a couple pictures showing how close they were to the dock but the boats numbers aren't visible. Got their faces and one of the fish though.
