In the past few days, I have been enjoying the Golden Crowned Sparrows, and rather complacent about looking at the sparrows through my binos. I kept hearing something a bit different, and was able to locate a White throated Sparrow. The yellow in front of the eye is not prominent, but is seen at close range. I found a recording of one on my Dan Gibson's Songbirds by the Stream CD, and when I played it just outside my door, I could hear a good reply. I turned it down, and the bird flew directly at me, and is still singing up a storm although I have turned off the Ipod. I cannot find my Sparrow book at the moment, but the white eye stripes are very dark, and it seems that the top stripe is very narrow and this may be the tan striped. It could also be a juvie going into adult breeding plumage. I have not kept up on my birds, and I don't even know if this is a great find, for me it is a good one for my yard, and with all the other activity, I am now wondering how much cl!

should I really do in the yard.
I also heard the California Quail earlier today, but it was at some distance, perhaps a couple of houses away from mine. Lots of Evening Grosbeaks, the pair of Black headed, lots of hummingbird activity, both Anna's and Rufous.
