Hi Tweets,

I went to the Eatonville park along the little Mashel river and as I was getting out of the car, sans camera. A Red tail hawk flew fast into the tree over my head, closely followed by screaming Osprey. The Osprey sailed not 15 feet over me and circled the tree a few times calling insults to the hawk, calling as it flew down the river.

And then this afternoon, I looked out the window just in time to see a Merlin try for one of the feeder birds, it stalled in mid-air, then landed on a branch. As it took off I could see nothing in its talons, though the sharp outlines of its wings confirmed my impression. This would be my first Merlin here. Wooo hooo!

Keep a sharp eye!
