There were at least three Western Tanagers in Seward Park yesterday. Also a huge mixed flock of warblers high in the Big-leaf Maples, and me without my binoculars.

Hi Tweeters,

This is the best year ever for Western Tanagers for me
in P. Sound area and it pretty much just began. I saw
my 1st one here in Wash on Sunday after seeing one in
California during vacation. I have seen them every
day since except for Monday. This morning when I was
putting the garbage out for pick up at home I added
them to the yard bird list. There were several and
they were calling then flying off towards Lake
Meridian. I wished I could have stayed home and
counted the wave through my yard area. As it was
three flew off and at least two or three were still
calling.
