This afternoon Tammy Bjorkman and I lead a lot of non-birders around the oak groves along the trails of the Carty Unit of Ridgefield NWR here in Clark Co.

49 species seen. Biggest miss was no Western Tanagers. They were all down at the entrance to the main part of the refuge.

Highlights were:

1 Great Egret
1 Great Horned Owl
1 Warbling Vireo
2+ Purple Martins
Bewick's, Marsh, Winter, and House Wrens
Hermit ThrushOrange-crowned, NASHVILLE, Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Gray, Townsend's, Yellowthroat, and 100's of Wilson's Warblers
1 Bullock's Oriole

The Nashville was going almost all the way to the back of the trail system staying in the wooded parts going where there is lots of brushy stuff under the Oaks and Doug Firs. This is just before seeing water and where there is a split in the trail.
