Jean Power, Kara Whittaker, and I went on Duwamish River today and put up 9 new gourds. Weather held while we were there, and some Purple Martins showed up. Violet Greens and Tree Swallows were the first to check out the new gourds.
It wasn't the same without Kevin but it was sure nice to get out of the house.
Also saw two Bald Eagles, Ospreys on the nest, lots of Caspian Terns, an Oriole, and some Western Grebes.
There was a worrisome looking barge kind of busted in half, too...
It was great.
