Friday, April 9th, first American Goldfinch spotted in my "yard"--a
male and a drabbish gray female at the platform feeder. On the other
side of my house, I had hung a finch feeder a couple weeks ago, but no
visitors, or at least no noticeable diminishing of the seeds. But, on
Saturday morning, after three male Goldfinch were chased away from that
feeder by Jays, one of them along with an olive-tinted female showed up
on the finch feeder! And they have been visiting it regularly all week!
I love watching them--that amazing color in the middle of dark, rainy
days and the dark trees behind them.

Also, on Saturday, a Red-breasted Sapsucker flew through my clearing with
only a momentary pause on an Alder tree. First time I have seen this
bird here in Cinebar.
