Yes, I know that most of them are Spiny Softshell turtles. I have 2 photos of them on my blog, here:

The smaller one is an adult male, the giant one is a adult female. All turtles photos from Montlake Fill.

I can't remember where now, but after a big storm a few years ago, some scientists found a bunch of dead turtles along the shore of Lake Washington. Among them was 2 species of softshelled turtle. One was the spiny, the other I am not certain off... possibly Florida or Chinese softshell turtles.

Just returned from a fine afternoon of birding at The Montlake Fill.
But perhaps the most unusual sighting was of a Soft-shelled Turtle.
Could not get enough shell pattern to discern weather it was the
"Spiny", Smooth" or "Florida" species. In any event, this non-native
is certainly resident now.

Anyone have a clue?
