Hey all,
Was out at Discovery Park Thursday morning and saw a Chipping Sparrow just outside of the Visitor Center mixing with a Golden-crowned Sparrow, a Song sparrow, and some Juncos. Heading toward the main entrance to the center it was seen about 50 feet down the trail to the left. Saw it on the way in, pulling down some dandelions for seeds; went in and grabbed some binoculars from the center and got a better look, then it flew.
Also, at my home in Renton, I may have seen a Cassin's Vireo, but I'm not familiar with them and am wondering what other species I may want to take a look at - smallish bird with a clear breast, white over the eyes, singing in multiple burry phrases. Didn't sound like other vireos, but I am pretty clueless with warblers.
