Looking up from my back yard yesterday at 5 PM I noticed a bird on the glide
that fits the Black Swift description: dark underside, sickle shaped wings
coming to a sharp point, cigar shaped body. My view was short, from between
two houses, and I have never seen a Black Swift before. This bird, in a
clear blue sky, was at a moderate altitude, not way up there. My question
is whether any other Sammamish area Tweeters have seen these birds recently,
or if any other Black Swift experts can comment on the probability of
spotting a Black Swift under these circumstances?
