Hello Tweeters,
What a surprise getting out of the car and hearing the Pileated Woodpecker
calling, but looking I did not see this bird on the usual Suet feeder. The
call came from my backyard. So I open the backdoor real quietly.Standing
below I could see this bird on the railing of my patio walking and than
ending up on the Suet feeder.I watched this male for about 8 minutes,to he
flew up in to the trees.I was able to get 16 photos close up.I had the visit
from a female Pileated this Morning at 8.00 am on the front Suet
feeder, where there are usual been seen. I think a pair of this birds
breeding close to the Fircrest swamp. We saw this two birds in December on
the CBC.But I had two males one time in my yard, but each bird departed in
different direction.
One going to the Swamp the other went opposite going left Thurs the Golf
course. This is the only bird right now what still gives my attention.I also
took photos of the Swainson's Thrush the other day.

Cheers Ruth Sullivan
