While doing some birding at the Longview Sewage Treatment Ponds I heard a
very loud bird. While there aren't too many birds that I can identify by
sound (they have to be fairly loud) I was sure I knew this one. The sound
impressed me as being from a large bird, so I started down the list of large birds
that I might recognize by sound. No luck! Then, Eureka! A Peacock. Never
expected to hear one at that location, but there is a house a short distance
from there that has an Emu, so why not a Peacock.
