Had a very productive couple of hours mid-afternoon, in the height of the heat. Birded Iverson Spit and English Boom on North Camano Island, Island Co., as well as Leque Island and the Stanwood STP in Snohomish Co.

Highlights among the 70 species found were: 15 species of waterfowl at the STP, including REDHEAD, CINNAMON TEAL, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, G.W. TEAL, EARED GREBE, COMMON GOLDENEYE, BOTH SCAUP, and R.N. DUCK. Shorebirds at the STP were 5 species, 6 WILSON'S PHALAROPE, 1 WILSON'S SNIPE, 8 KILLDEER, 8 SPOTTED SANDPIPER, 1 L.B. DOWITCHER.

Leque Island had W. TANAGER, B. ORIOLE and B.H. GROSBEAK.

Iverson Spit was active with birdlife. PILEATED WOODPECKER, PURPLE FINCH, CASPIAN TERN, VIRGINIA RAIL to name a few.

English Boom. PURPLE MARTINS are again present in the nest boxes along the beach.
