Tweeters gull experts, please give me your opinions on the lineage of a
recently photographed gull.

Yesterday in the final stretch of a pelagic birding tour at Westport-I
highly recommend this as a wonderful experience-Scott indicated he may have
had a brief look at a white gull with a bicolored bill on the Westport
Jetty. After disembarking I hiked out onto the jetty to have a look. I do
not recommend this if you are short of time-think 1 linear mile of fallen
down Great Wall of China bordered by surging saltwater, which water has also
generously donated a couple hundred largish logs to the pile. In any case I
spotted several white gulls, all swimming, of which one had what appears to
be a bicolored bill. The others, sadly, had black bills. Also seen out
there were at least three Wandering Tattlers, a shy bird recently
photographed in the same spot by Joe Higbee.

Attached is a link to a couple of photos. Pardon the lack of excellence.
