Well, I now have another new bird to add to my life list after a female black grosbeak came to our feeders yesterday evening. I initially thought it might be a female rose-breasted GB, but it seemed to have more color to its underside than it should, & the ID was confirmed in my 40-yr-old Peterson's book (then later on www.enature.com).

On a side note, I didn't realize until reading another post here that the mockingbird was considered so uncommon around here, as my sister-in-law & I are sure we saw one at Nisqually when we went there last Mon. The white wing bars were quite distinctive, & having recently moved here from GA it was "just another bird" to me (although I do miss the all-night singing that mockingbirds can be infamous for).

Have a bird-i-ful day!
