Tweets - I went down to watch my son run in a track meet Saturday in
Vancouver, WA, so of course I birded my way down on Friday and back on
Saturday :)

My goal was to try to work on my truly pathetic county lists for Lewis and
Cowlitz counties; my intent was to try to find common spring birds. I
actually had trouble finding some of those, while I did find some rather
unusual birds, which is a fine trade-off. It was also a chance to see some
parts of the state I've ignored in the past.

The weather was HOT. I wasn't complaining too loudly after the cold spring
we've had.

Lewis County: 66 species, of which 26 were new to my list:

It was a fine trip, and my son ran a great race in the BiDistrict Meet. He
came in seeded 8th and came in 5th, just missing out on qualifying for State
in the 800 meters.
