Tweeters,

I observed 3 Eurasian Collared Doves at around 4:30 PM today (Wednesday, May 21, 2008) sitting on top of the Fall City Grill sign near the intersection of Hiways 202 and 203 (NE Corner) in Fall City. Definitely a pair and a fledgling (at that very ugly stage). I guess it was inevitable that these very invasive birds would reach the Sno Valley - hopefully the Sno Falls Peregrines will find them!

Also in the same area as the doves more than 20 Lazuli Buntings perched (and singing) on fences, wires, bushes in the flower/vegetable fields just to the east of the parking lot and then flying to cover in the trees and blackberries when a downpour that included small hail quickly swept through. A pair of Bullock's Orioles were working the line of Lombardy Poplars on the West side of Hwy 203 opposite the Fall City Grill. Even in the miserable grey light and occassional rain these birds stood out like orange jewels.

Good Birding!
