Sightings for Monday, May 19th:

At Iona Island in Richmond, a VESPER SPARROW was present at 8 PM in the
southeast corner of the southwest sewage pond.

Near Port Renfrew on Vancouver Island, a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was
present at Botanical Beach. This sighting is not confirmed.

A BARRED OWL was seen along the Huckleberry Trail in Pacific Spirit Park
near Vancouver.


Sightings for Sunday, May 18th:

At Cecil Green Park on the University of BC campus near Vancouver were many
migrants including "dozens" of YELLOW WARBLERS, 6 WILSON'S WARBLERS, 12
WARBLING VIREOS, an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE, and a
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE.


No reports for Saturday, May 17th


Sightings for Friday, May 16th:

In West Vancouver, a probable female HERMIT WARBLER was seen at Lighthouse
Park. It was sighted halfway to the lighthouse on the main trail.


Sightings for Thursday, May 15th:

At Colony Farm in Port Coquitlam, 2 LAZULI BUNTINGS were present near the
GVRD trailer. Nearby, a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was present.

At Surrey Lake Park on 152nd Street in Surrey, a GREEN HERON and a NASHVILLE
WARBLER were sighted.

A BARRED OWL was seen at Watershed Park in Delta, a regular location for
this species.


Sightings for Wednesday, May 14th:

In a garden in West Ladner, 2 LAZULI BUNTINGS were sighted.

At Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver were 2 TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRES and 1 SPOTTED SANDPIPER.


No reports for Tuesday, May 13th.


Sightings for Monday, May 12th:

At Grant Narrows Nature Trail in Pitt Meadows, a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE and a
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were present.

At Cypress Provincial Park in West Vancouver, a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL was heard
at km 11, and 3 SOOTY GROUSE were hooting near the Hollyburn Lodge
trailhead.

In North Vancouver, a CHIPPING SPARROW was present in a garden.


Sightings for Sunday, May 11th:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, the drake TUFTED DUCK continues.
Nearby was a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE.

The Iona Island sewage ponds in Richmond produced a female WILSON'S
PHALAROPE, 2 CINNAMON TEAL, and 4 BLUE-WINGED TEAL.

At Burnaby Mountain Park in Burnaby, a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was present
northwest of the children's play area. Also present here were a
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE.

At Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, a NASHVILLE WARBLER was sighted.

In New Westminster, a NASHVILLE WARBLER was seen at Tipperary Park.

In Vancouver, a TURKEY VULTURE was seen over Robson Street in the downtown
area.


Sightings for Saturday, May 10th:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, the TUFTED DUCK was present in the outer
ponds. Around the sanctuary, 1 DUSKY FLYCATCHER and 1 NASHVILLE WARBLER were
seen.

At Iona Island in Richmond, 2 WILSON'S PHALAROPES were present on the
southwest pond. Two BLUE-WINGED TEAL and a SPOTTED SANDPIPER there were the
first reports for the year, and an AMERICAN BITTERN was noteworthy.

At the Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, a NASHVILLE WARBLER
was located.


Sightings for Friday, May 9th:

Two SANDHILL CRANES were sighted at the south end of 72nd Street in Delta.


Sightings for Thursday, May 8th:

At the Maplewood Conservation Area, a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was seen.
