Today I had a very nice birding walk at Marymoor Park. I started out whining because it began to rain at about 8:00 am. As I walked south along the gravel path along the river in the off-leash area, a male Lazuli Bunting landed in a tree close to me and sang. Later I found three more males in the tree restoration area.

A Western Kingbird was in the east meadow. I also observed a Short-eared Owl in flight, the first time I have seen this kind of Owl at Marymoor, though they are often reported here. There were lots of Black-headed Grosbeaks all over the place. I found two Puple Martins perched on the gourd, an adult and a juvenile. On my out I walked back to Redmond on the Sammamish River Trail and found another bird I wanted to see, a Bullock's Oriole perched in a cottonwood tree. Actually I am a little boggled by everything I saw!

If you want to be boggled come to Marymoor Park!
