Subject: [Tweeters] Spring Rare Bird Reports
Date: May 29 18:22:58 2008
From: Brad Waggoner - wagtail at sounddsl.com

Hi All,

Doug Schonewald sent the following very nice e-mail to Inland NW
outlining the editorial changes for North American Birds. I am not quite
sure it made it on Tweeters so I have copied it and included it now
(Doug said it much better than I could have):

Fellow Birders,

After many years of hard work and faithful service to the birding
community of Washington, Steve Mlodinow has passed the torch as a
regional editor of North American Birds. David Irons, of Oregon fame,
has undertaken the unenviable position of primary regional editor for
both Oregon and Washington. You may email him with Oregon reports
directly (llsdirons at msn.com), or by emailing either myself or Brad
Waggoner and we will forward those reports to Dave.

Brad Waggoner has graciously accepted the responsibility for all of
Western Washington. Please email any outstanding sightings on the
western side of the state to Brad at wagtail at sounddsl.com .

I have accepted the easiest of all the editorial positions by covering
all of Eastern Washington. Please email any sightings from the eastern
portion of Washington to me at dschone8 at donobi.net. We hope that the
transition is seamless and we can serve the folks of Washington and
Oregon as aptly as Steve did for so many years.

Cheers,
Doug

Given that Saturday marks the end of the Spring reporting period, I am
sending the friendly little reminder message that normally Steve would
have sent at this time. Send your reports to Tom Aversa for WOS Field
Notes (FieldNotes at wos.org) and your Western Washington reports to me and
your Eastern Washington reports to Doug. If your sighting was right
along the Cascade crest either one of us would love to take it. Come to
think of it, I recall the Steven Pass White-winged Crossbill sightings
this past winter when observers (read enthusiastic county-listers) were
joyfully reporting the crossbills in two counties!

Please send your reports prior to June 15.

Thanks and good birding,

Brad Waggoner
