Hello there Tweeters,

I had a wonderful morning of birding at Juanita Bay Park, stayed for five
hours and saw 61 species. The weather was overcast and cool, but without a
drop of rain thankfully. The cloud cover brought 4 BLACK SWIFTs down close
to the ground, soaring over the parking lot alongside a handful of PURPLE
MARTINs. Soon after while walking toward the west boardwalk, a male
BULLOCK'S ORIOLE vocalized from the largest Cottonwood between the
boardwalks and flew south. Also on the west side of the park was a NASHVILLE
WARBLER calling and foraging mid-level in the deciduous trees just before
the W boardwalk. The most surprising encounter of the day was a lone EASTERN
KINGBIRD that perched atop a small tree by the cement path just east of the
bathrooms. It stuck around for only a few minutes, allowing some nice views,
before completely disappearing to the east. On the eastern side of the park,
a singing SWAINSON'S THRUSH and another MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER (in full song
too) were present. Lastly, along the "fire station road" was a WESTERN
WOOD-PEWEE and a fitz-bewing WILLOW FLYCATCHER. Below is the complete eBird

Also, before I left the house this morning a singing PACIFIC-SLOPE
FLYCATCHER was my 53rd yardbird.
