Ron Friesz found the bird around 2:30. Take SR 262 = O'Sullivan Dam Road to
the east side of the reservoir and turn south opposite the WDFW
parking/launch area where Lind Coulee enters. Go south and stay on the main
road turning right (rather than left over Soda Lake dam) and continue past
the drying ponds around a few curves and down the washboard road to the
bottom of the hill. Park in the lot south of the road where the Crab Creek
Trailhead begins, walk west across the dip (Crab Creek goes through two
small culverts), and go in left of the gate. The service road goes about a
half mile north and hits a "T" at the main dike road. Walk left about 100
yards and turn south on the dike. I saw the bird toward the north and west
side of the open water. It was tip-feeding continually so might be happy
there for a bit.

No Willet today. I was hoping when two dropped to one the other one was on
a nest.

Sorry for missing the subject line, obviously a little too excited. Here
is the text from the previous post.

Randy Hill just called and he has located a Baikal Teal male on the
Columbia NWR. The bird is located in Marsh Unit 1 and is located on the
west impoundment south of the dike due west from the upper parking lot.
Access is probably easiest from the lower parking lot near the turnoff
to
Goose Lakes, though the distance is further to walk. I am sure Randy
will
post more details when he can access a computer.
