I accompanied my wife for her horseback riding lesson today at a friend's
home along Thompson Creek near the Skookumchuck River in Thurston County.
This property has about 15 acres of open pasture in the floodplain of
Thompson Creek. There was a Western Kingbird doing regular foraging flights
from one of the fences, always returning to perch on the fence.

I thought it worth mentioning. I've seen Western Kingbirds in Western
Washington before but I doubt I've seen more than a couple on this side of
the mountains. I don't recall seeing them reported from the west side very
often on Tweeters either.
