Kerri,
I am a bit south of you but we have had Violet-Greens in our nest box for about three seasons now and the young seem to be fledged and gone by July if memory serves, though I agree with you on the late start this year. We were wondering if they decided not to come this year. I don't know if it was the weather, but I think that this year I will start to keep a dated list of all the details for future reference. Isn't it amazing how tolerant they are to being so close to people? Ours is right above and to the left of the front door! Good luck!

We are looking at replacing our driveway. Our VGS box is right over the garage. I would hate to disrupt our swallow family which is just getting started but is a little late this year. My yard list says they've only stayed into August once in several years so I think scheduling it for mid-August would be okay. Any thoughts from people in the NE Puget Sound area?
Thanks.
