I had the great privilege of reading an advance copy of Irene Pepperberg's book, Alex and Me, that will be released to the public in October 2008. As you recall, Alex was Irene's research colleague for thirty years as they studied cognition and learning in parrots. I wrote a little review of this too-small teaser, and I am dying to read the entire book;
