Hi Tweets,

Today I checked on the White-headed Woodpeckers (WHWO) nesting in the Wenas Campground. The male was there incubating a clutch of five eggs. The norm (average) for this species is 4, but occassionally they will have 5 eggs. I think this is only the 4th or 5th WHWO nest I have monitored with a clutch of 5 eggs.

Thus, all is going well for this pair and glad the activities of the Memorial Day weekend did not interfere with their nesting this year.
