Hello All,

Today under a cloudy skies, wind and spity rain MerryLynn and I saw the
following species:

Ruffed Grouse-1 bird on Maloney Mtn., Columbia Co.
Varied Thrush-1 bird on Ekler Mtn., Columbia Co.
GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES-900-1000 birds over FSRD 4610 near the first
gravel pit along this road.We were south of Dayton, Columbia Co.. This is
the largest number we have ever seen in the Blue Mountains.
Northern Rough-legged Hawk-1 light morph along Ekler Mtn.Rd., 1 light morph
along HWY 12 near Dixie, 1 dark morph along McKay Rd.Walla Walla Co.
Golden-crowned Kinglet-2 along FSRD 46
Black-backed Woodpecker-1 bird along FSRD 46, near Godman Springs.

Note: We really had to work hard to locate any birds in the blues. Dozens of
elk hunters and very few birds.
Later Mike
