Greetings,
??? Three weeks ago I installed a 50 gallon pond in my yard with the purpose of drawing birds in closer to photograph them.? Two days ago while watching a mixed flock of Juncos, Steller's Jays, Towhees, Golden crowned Sparrows and Flickers, I was surprised to see and photograph a Fox Sparrow. As exciting as this was for me, it was quickly eclipsed when the yellow leaves falling from the tree above the water turned into a pair of Townsend's Warblers. They maneuvered closer to the little water spot I had made and I was able to get the photos I have posted at these flikr addresses.? These are my first photos of Townsend's Warblers and the longest as well as closest encounter I have ever had with them.? I hope you enjoy them.? I will post how I made the pond on my blog at a later time. I just had to get these pictures up first!
