Hi Tweeters,
I did a quick run through the Kent Valley this morning and at about 10am was delighted to see the Red-shouldered Hawk of Kent Ponds has returned for another winter. It was perched on a favorite spot, the Osprey tower at Kent Ponds. Presuming this is the same hawk and its personality has not changed it is unusually wary of people. I made sure to try and hide my car behind trees across the street and scope from there. Location is on 64th Ave, south of the King County Animal Control Shelter. Directions can be found from their website. Last year the bird could be found most often along this side of the Kent Ponds site.
