Hi,
In response to where are all the buffleheads. I can answer that there is quite a good number of buffleheads male and female around at Matthews Beach these days. They mostly arrived about a week ago.
Also there are a couple of eagles chasing coots. I haven't actually seen them catch one but they try pretty hard. There was an immature of about a year or so resting on the boat house next door to us about 2 days ago.
There is a variety of shore birds milling around here right now. coots, widgeons, gadwalls, scaups, to name some of them.
