I went out to West Seattle today to photograph some Harlequin Ducks I saw
there a few days ago. (At the usual spot just south of Alki Point).
Unfortunately, the tide was very high and the waves were washing over the
sidewalk so the attempt was unsuccessful. I did see 3 or 4 Harlequins not
too far off shore tough. Fortunately for me, a little further north, I ran
into the flock of shorebirds. (Previously reported). There were about 25
each of Black Turnstones and Surfbirds. Though they were trying to sleep
they made the job very easy for the photographers.
