Hi Everyone,
Back on the east coast, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me
such great birding tips and advice for the Seattle, Tacoma, and Port Angeles
areas and to share a few trip highlights.
Mt. Rainier 11/1 - 6 female Pine Grosbeaks feeding on berries on the
Panorama Trail not far from the visitor's center, light morph Rough-legged
Hawk, entertainment provided by roving bands of Gray Jays
Point No Point 11/ 3 - Marbled Murrelet and Rhinoceros Auklet quite close to
shore
Dungeness River Audubon Center 11/4 - American Dipper foraging in the river
Marymoor Park 11/8 Barn Owl at the windmill at 6AM and Short-eared Owl over
the south field 6:40AM
For the entire week, we enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of all the
birders we met out in the field. We are already planning a return trip.
