The Black Oystercatcher is an excellent sighting. I believe it's the first
for Pierce County. I am working on a book on Pierce County birds (hopefully
out about this time of year in 2010). In my review of many publications,
museum records, WOS data, ebird, etc., I haven't been able to find a
documented oystercatcher sighting.
