Moikka tweeties,

i have been informed that i (and my friends) am getting my sea-eagles mixed up, so i am hoping to see a white-tailed sea-eagle instead of a steller's sea-eagle. i guess i should get the collin's field guide to the birds of europe at some point, although it will not happen while i am in finland since books are breathtakingly expensive here (i. e.; 2-3 times more expensive than in the USA).

incidentally, i popped into one of helsinki's finest bookstores this evening to look at the bird field guides and attended a talk by former president of Finland, Martti Ahtisaari. of course, i didn't understand a word he said, but that was not really important since it is obvious that he's quite the celebrity here, due to lots of reasons, not the least of which was his 2008 Nobel Peace Prize.

i have been seeing many hundreds of bohemian waxwings each day -- in fact, they are among the most common birds here, along with great tits, making me think there are probably many thousands of bohemian waxwings in helsinki right now.

I am also waiting an extra day to ID the previous mystery birds because i was late posting the link for you, so everyone has the chance to join in the fun.

today's mystery bird is so cute that you'll squeee when you see it, but tell me, what is it?
