I just finished the most amazing article of bird migration that I have ever read. It is published in the National Wildlife Federation Dec/Jan 2009 publication.
It is written by local Seattle aurthor Eric Wagner: "SOLVING THE MYSTRY OF A MIGRATORY MARVEL". It is a totally breathtaking and detailed account of the bar-tailed godwit's migration to and from New Zealand and Austrailia each year to nest in the Arctic Regions of Russia and Alaska. What is totally engrosing is the way that the migration is documented and how the technology of today allowed this study to be accomplished. The biologist's that accomplissd this study should be commended and thanked by the Birding Commmunity for their dedication and ingeniuty in completing this study of monumental proportions.
