Hi Tweeters,

I made a stop at the mouth of the Cedar this after noon and found a Palm Warbler upriver a bit on the trail from the mouth. The trail splits in two and this is where I saw it fly into a small deciduous tree and bobbed it's tail. I took a closer look and saw the yellow undertail and a strong supercillium, otherwise pretty plain looking bird. It was not associating with any other birds. I did not see any Yellow-rumped Warblers around. The Palm flew to the Boeing property and moved around on some equipment inside the fence. This is near a liquid nitrogen tank. I hope it sticks around, one was here a couple of years ago and with some effort quite a few birders saw it.

Other notable birds, a good size flock of Canvasbacks towards the marina on the right outside the mouth of Cedar and into Lk Wa. The overwintering flock of Greater white-fronted Geese were around. A lone Ruddy Duck was out there. While humming "I wish they were all California Gulls" by the Beach Boys I checked out the gulls. About 8 Thayer's, a few Herring, a dark hybrid (maybe a Western?), Ring-billed, and of course a lot of Glaucous-winged were around. I couldn't find a Mew but there was probably one tucked in there too.

Both Barrows and Common Goldeneyes have arrived and they were what I was hoping to see on my trip to the park, but there was so much more!

Here is a site with info about the park:
