OBOL and Tweeters:

This is a request for participants to help with covering areas in Oregon and Washington in the Columbia Hills-Klickitat Valley CBC circle on Saturday, 3 January 2009. Included within the count circle are Rufus and Biggs Jct. in Oregon, John Day Dam, and Goldendale and Centerville in Washington. The count circle includes lots of good raptor habitat that is rapidly being overrun with wind turbines--even in the Columbia Hill Important Bird Area. The Columbia River above and below the dam is great habitat for a diversity of waterbirds, not infrequently including Pacific Loon. Barrow's Goldeneyes are regulars. And Maryhill State Park often harbours interesting, half-hardy passerines.

I can be reached by email <johnstonstuartf at hotmail.com> or by calling (509) 493-3363 between 6 and 10 p.m. (or leave a message at other times of day).
