The first Varied Thrush this fall on my five acres here in Cinebar were
spotted yesterday--only a couple of them. And while I was sitting very
still to watch them, my rusty Ruffed Grouse flew into the nearby Hazel
tree--walking the bare branches for more than five minutes. This is
the second time I have seen one here this month, so I hope that means
they are staying the winter.
