Yesterday, I found the Palm Warbler at the Cedar River Trail in Renton. My strategy was to first find the Yellow-rumped Warblers. I found my first Warbler in the large Weeping Willow tree, near the end of the trail. This bird flew out of the tree and over to the nearby Boeing property. A small flock of Yellow Rumps were perching on the chain link fence and hopping on various parked cars. One of these was flicking it's tail like crazy. I was amazed! Yes, there was the yellow under the tail! Yes, there was the striped supercillium. Having it right next to the Yellow Rumps sure helped. When I?was leaving I saw this bird again, this time perched in a tree above my head.?The last two years I was unable to find the Palm Warbler at this place, so this year I had wonderful up close views! There were also some Myrtle Yellow-rumped Warblers.
