The birds this week were about the same as my last report with a couple of exceptions.

I did not see any owls this time. However, someone had dressed a deer at the Highland Snow Park and left the entrails and liver and spleen. So, there were a lot of ravens and at least 3 Gray Jays. There were some Mountain Chickadees and Red-breasted Nuthatches as well.

The road on up to the left was still open and I went up about 5 miles again. But, nothing moving there.

There were a few Pine Grosbeaks along Mary Ann Creek Rd. again. I heard a woodpecker there as well. I started playing all the woodpecker calls and finally got him to fly overhead. It was a Pileated.

Bolster Rd. remains quiet.

I did see one Northern Shrike today and the usual assortment of Hawks.

The weather was good, and snow tires were definitely needed.

Good birding,
