Hi, Tweets

For the first time in many, many years I didn't cook a Thanksgiving
dinner and instead, Bill Kaufman and I spent the day on the Skagit
and Samish Flats. Gorgeous weather made it most pleasant and seeing
8-10,000 snow geese, many swans, herons, roughlegs, redtails, bald
eagles, and harriers was superb. There were a few ducks in the
fields, but most seemed to be out in the bay. We saw no falcons. Not
being the best on sparrows, I will say we saw golden-crowns at the
game headquarters and some hunters had seen a cattle egret. Also,
meadowlarks, kingfishers, dunlin, yellowlegs, and a multitude of
starlings. And we did have our turkey dinner, but at the Farmhouse
Inn. I think we need a good, cold storm to bring a lot more species in.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Cheers, Diann
